Marian Salzman is considered one of the top five trendspotters in the world, and over her 30-year career, she was one of most-awarded executives in public relations. Honors include PRWeek’s Global Power Book, PR News Top Woman in PR, the PRWeek Hall of Femme, the Holmes Report Top Innovators List and Business Insider’s 25 Most Powerful PR People.
A graduate of Brown University in the USA, she founded the first online market research company early in her career. She went on to serve as chief strategic officer at Euro RSCG Worldwide (Havas Creative), chief marketing officer at both Porter Novelli and JWT Worldwide, and CEO of Havas PR North America. In 2018, Marian took on her greatest challenge—stepping into the role of Senior Vice President Global Communications at Philip Morris International, to lead the company’s reintroduction into civil society as it embarked on its journey for a smoke-free future.
Marian popularized the term “metrosexual” and was one of the first to speak about “local as the new global.” She publishes an annual trends forecast at the end of each year, as the ultimate “crystal ball”. Her 2021 trends report, “Zoomsday Predictions”, is being talked about all over the world.
She is the author or co-author of 17 books, including Buzz, the first big business book on buzz marketing, and her latest, Agile PR: Expert Messaging in a Hyper-Connected, Always-on World.
