Mr. Shariful Islam is the Founder of Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), a social initiative founded in the year 2007 with the vision of Inspiring the Nation, through knowledge, ideas, innovation, branding ethos. Mr. Islam has an astounding body of work. Prior to starting BBF, he worked at several leading multinational companies including Unilever Ltd., Novartis Ltd & New Zealand Dairy among others. He left his high-flying corporate career to pursue more meaningful work which eventually led to the founding of Bangladesh Brand Forum. Over the past thirteen years, Bangladesh Brand Forum has done groundbreaking work in the field of branding and communications in Bangladesh. It has created a movement in the field of communication and branding in the country and now it is aiming even higher. He is also the Secretary General of Marketing Society of Bangladesh. Mr. Islam undertook more than 30 consulting assignments, apart from his endeavors through Bangladesh Brand Forum. As a Brand Custodian he has worked in the role of Brand Strategy Consultant or Chief Consultant for various private, public sector organizations & development agencies. In private sector International Herald Tribune, Prothom Alo, Pride Group, Habibs@Persona, PRAN-RFL Group, BRAC – Aarong, GMG Airlines, Bangladesh Edible Oil Ltd., Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd., Akij Ceramics Ltd. In public sector a2i – Access to Information, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd. (DMTCL), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Govt. of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Govt. of People’s Republic of Bangladesh and among development agencies he worked with International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), Edward M. Kennedy Center – Public Service and The Arts (EMK Center), KATALYST-Swisscontact, SNV Netherlands Developments Organization to name a few.
Besides Founder of Bangladesh Brand Forum, Shariful is also an advisor to Kellogg’s Innovation Network; Managing Director of Brandzeal Consultancy Limited and most importantly the President of IAA-Bangladesh Chapter.
